Admin building for Esch2022 completed

Belval to be the new base for the organisational team

The construction of the administration building for Esch2022 has been completed over the past few days. The red container building at the foot of the blast furnaces is not only going to be the administration, logistics and media centre for Esch2022, but the ground floor will also be a venue for small conferences and temporary exhibitions.

The building was designed along the principles of a circular economy in cooperation with the offices of Siebenaler Architekten. It is part of the infrastructures and facilities that are being built in Belval for the European Capital of Culture 2022.

They also include the conversion of the stockhouse into an exhibition room, and the relocation and technical upgrade of the Skip Pavillion to Belval. The Esch2022 team is currently based at the 1535° in Differdingen, and will be relocating to Belval over the coming weeks.
