Remix Opening – opening of the Capital of Culture Year
The big day is on Saturday, 26 February. That's when the Capital of Culture Year 2022 kicks off in Belval and the centre of Esch under the title of "Remix Opening".
From 4pm until 11pm there will be live music, DJs, dance, protection, light installations and a variety of spectacular and unusual entertainments in various places, on stages and many street corners in Belval and the centre of Esch. There will be around 18 concerts on a total of four stages featuring artists from Luxembourg, France, the Greater Region and the other two Capitals of Culture 2022, Kaunas in Lithuania and Novi Sad in Serbia.
"Remix Culture" is the motto of the Capital of Culture Year, under which around 160 art and culture projects with more than 2000 events are planned to take place in the south of Luxembourg and neighbouring municipalities in France by the end of the year. The focus will be on a different municipality every month. A total of some 200,000 inhabitants from 19 communities are on board.
